A Return To Jeffersonian Principles

For Immediate Release

August 25, 2007—It has been far too long since America has seen a true Jeffersonian declare his candidacy for president in one of the “major” political parties. The breed is so rare that most Americans have never seen even one elected official who believes in Jeffersonian principles.

Sadly, too many people really have no idea what Jeffersonian principles are. These principles were used as the most basic guidelines of operating any kind of government – local, state or national—at our nation’s founding. Government should be small, limited and firmly bound by “the chains of the Constitution”, as Jefferson himself put it.

As more Americans “wake up” to the realization that our government is growing and operating way out of control, many know that in order for this nation to survive we must return to those Jeffersonian principles. So, when a candidate for president adheres to those same principles, it only makes sense that we who also support those ideals would support that candidate in his bid for the White House.

The one candidate who supports Jeffersonian principles is Dr. Ron Paul, US Representative from Texas. Dr. Paul is well known for voting against bad legislation and well-meaning legislation alike whenever the legislation is unconstitutional. Dr. Paul opposes any further increase in the federal government, and seeks to scale it back—even if that means shutting down long-standing big government agencies and operations.

Therefore, the Jefferson Republican Party hereby fully endorses and supports the Honorable Ron Paul in his bid to become the next president of the United States of America.

I'm with you in principle. On this particular post in terms of the principles it's a message simple enough for the common man to grab.

I would like to see it articulated on a state and local level here in the state I reside in, Ohio.

Also, I'm curious as to how do get the mainline republicans to hear your message.

I agreed with your post on McCain, but I found the "fecal porridge" comment, while it might be true, just nasty. I love hard hitting in your face brutal honesty. But that was nasty.

Also, I'm curious to know that since you believe strongly in your message, what are the plans for getting the message out.

I basically see that the Republican Party does need help. I'm in agreement with what I take away from this particular post, do you see a candidate in the JRP on at least of the horizon that can defeat the incumbent President in 2012.

Because as it stands the same old GOP crew, isn't going to get it. We need an intelligent classy, articulate conservative to win in 2012.

Thank you sir,
I couldn't resist the term "fecal porridge" It just seemed so appropriate :)
Right now the members of the JRP are working to get our message out online thru our blog, the website and the forums. I cannot see us being large enough by 2012 to field our own candidate but what we shall do is give support for whichever candidate comes closest to our views such as we did with Ron Paul in last years election. We are trying to concentrate on electing officials on the local level at this point and as it stands both Mr. Fred Works and myself have been elected as city councilmen in Alabama and are JRP Members, of course our candidate Carl Whitaker came in third in the 2006 gubernatorial race in Tennessee. Hopefully more JRP Candidates will arise in 2010 in more states and with our recent expansion to Californian, New Mexico and Arizona it is looking more likely.
